Freddie Moore played cricket for Lancashire.

Bill Tolson played football for Rochdale.

Ian Greaves who went on to play for Manchester Utd between 1953 and 1960. He was injured and didn't travel to Munich, Germany, when United lost almost all their team  when their airplane crashed.
